![]() ![]() Despite what the name might suggest, this electric Mustang racer lays down a Chiron-rivaling 1502 hp and 1100 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheels. The powertrain was developed alongside Cascadia Motion, and runs 800 volts and up to 700 amps, with a maximum output of 350kW at each motor. Power output comes by way of four PN-250-DZR inverters mated to a pair of DS-250-115s motors. The Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 is a one-off creation, and may be the most extreme drag racer Ford has ever built. Not content with a single world record pass however, Tasca III's sent the Cobra Jet 1400 down the strip a second time, cementing the world record status with a 8.128 second pass at speeds of 171.97 mph. ![]() This was fast enough to break the car's previous best of 8.27 seconds at 168 mph, which was set in September of 2020. With funny car legend Bob Tasca III behind the wheel, the all-electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 made its first trip down the quarter-mile at Summit Motorsports Park with a pass of 8.26 seconds at 167 mph. ![]() Ford's all-electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 flew down the strip at Summit Motorsports Park, breaking its own full-bodied electric vehicle drag racing world record twice over.
